It’s Almost Tax Time. Don’t Count on Help from the IRS.

A report released by an IRS ombudsman reveals customer service at the IRS is getting worse, not better.

Consider this: The IRS has set a goal of answering only 71% of calls to its toll-free help line this year. The average wait for those who get through will be about 12 minutes.

Isn’t that like me making a New Year’s Resolution to do 71% of the work I’m assigned this year? Only your taxes don’t pay my salary.
